Statement of faith
Anothen Outdoor Academy is not affiliated with any church organization or any one denomination. As an interdenominational Christian organization, we see several different denominations represented among our Anothen Staff, Leadership and Students. Below you will find that we have provided our doctrinal statement to express where we, as an organization, stand in regards to foundational Christian doctrine. We recognize that not every individual we lead and serve will align with the points laid out in this statement. \
At Anothen, we are devoted to loving and serving all who we encounter, regardless of beliefs and differences. However, it would be a violation of our beliefs to provide accommodations to groups or individuals who would actively contradict, undermine, or oppose our core principles. Therefore, Anothen will not accommodate or allow actions or the presentation of content that is contradictory to our doctrinal statement during the use of the facilities.
Our beliefs
We believe there is One eternal true God. He is three persons, Father, Son (Jesus) and Holy Spirit.
God created all things for his fame and renowned.
We believe that Man and Woman are a deliberate and special creation of God, made in His own image, as the crowning work of His creation. Therefore a person’s race, gender and sexuality are beautiful, sacred and part of the goodness of God’s creation.
God does not make mistakes and fully intends for humans to embrace the qualities and excellent purpose dictated by their biology and corresponding gender.
We believe that all mankind is rebellious and exchanges God for their own desires and passions. This exchange (sin) separates man from God, but recognition of this exchange and repentance and faith in Christ unifies Man to God once more.
We believe that God established marriage as a lifelong, exclusive relationship between one man and one woman and that all intimate sexual activity outside the marriage relationship, whether heterosexual, homosexual, or otherwise, is contrary to God’s plan and thus immoral and therefore sin.
We believe that the Holy Bible was written by men, divinely inspired by God, inerrant and relative to modern life. We hold that Scriptures are our final authority.
We believe that the Christian life is led and empowered by the Holy Spirit (God) who produces characteristics such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
We believe that there is no greater JOY than to follow Christ and to know Him. In doing so it is a challenging, satisfying and meaningful life-long journey with ups and downs. These are designed to refine and build a person to be a product for demonstrating God’s grace and Glory.
God began and will finish the work he started in every believer. Those who believe are secure in the knowledge that God is with them and for them.
